“Quite a deep colour, bright ruby with a good purple rim, the bouquet attractively pinoty, dark plum and blackberry pastille tinged with an array of spices, some oak-derived. It’s very intense and focused, thanks to bright acidity and ample mouth-coating tannins. The tannins start off fluffy and lithe and become more bitter on repeat sipping, but the bitterness is pleasing and helps cleanse the aftertaste.
