“Greg Melanson’s vineyard on Pritchard Hill is very steep, with rows running up and down the hill directly across from Colgin Winery. Beyond Colgin, its rocky face looks down at Napa Valley’s floor. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard was on skins for only about 13 days and pulled off soon after and was aged in new Darnajou barrels. Deep garnet-purple colored, it features aromas of stewed plums, sautéed herbs, cassis, damp soil, cigar box and beef drippings.
