Champagne Since 1729
The historic Maison Ruinart owes its existence to the visionary monk, Dom Thierry Ruinart. While residing at the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, he encountered early forms of sparkling wine, sparking an inspiration that would forever change the world. Fuelled by his uncle’s tales, Nicolas Ruinart translated this vision into reality. In 1729, he drafted the founding charter of Maison Ruinart, forever etching its name as the world’s first Champagne producer in Reims, France.
Maison Ruinart’s pioneering spirit extends far beyond its status as the world’s first Champagne producer. In 1764, they cemented their innovative legacy by shipping the first Rosé champagnes across Europe, a feat that celebrates its 260th anniversary this year. This masterful blend harmoniously combines the aromatic freshness of Chardonnay grapes with the delightful fruitiness of Pinot Noir. Enhanced by reserve wines, it creates a captivating dance on the palate, culminating in an unforgettable taste sensation.
