Burgundy Whites - Chassagne Montrachet
In the heart of Burgundy’s renowned Cote d’Or lies Chassagne-Montrachet, an appellation that has become synonymous with world-class Chardonnay. Known for their exceptional aging potential and complex flavour profiles, these wines are a staple for any serious collector.
Chardonnay Perfection
Chassagne-Montrachet spans over 350 hectares in the Cote de Beaune, Burgundy. The appellation consists of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards that produce primarily Chardonnay wines. Glittering gold in colour, these Chardonnays are well known for their intense fruit profile, with hints of minerality and toasty notes resulting from oak barrel fermentation and ageing. In fact, some visitors to the appellation believe its white wines are the world’s most refined expression of Chardonnay.
Chassagne-Montrachet white wines are celebrated for their incredible aging potential, transforming over time while maintaining their signature freshness. Well known for their expressive bouquets of enticing aromas. These complex profiles, paired with the region’s limestone-rich soils, gives the wines their characteristic minerality, richness, and balance.
Whether enjoyed young for their vibrant fruit or aged for their deeper, honeyed notes, these wines represent the pinnacle of Chardonnay winemaking in Burgundy.
