Penfolds Superblend 802.B

A year ago, you have met Penfolds’ Superblend 802.A.
Now, it is time to meet its sibling – Penfolds Superblend 802.B!
A TALE OF TWO SIBLINGS
Two siblings, differently assembled and raised in different environments. These wines are made from A-Grade cabernet sauvignon and A-Grade shiraz from a wonderful harvest…and that much-coveted ingredient, time.
This powerful pair were released sequentially, but are designed to be collected together. They are “super” for a reason – these limited-edition siblings exude an aura of stature and finesse, as if all the grandeur of 707, Grange and 389 have been united in one dramatic whole.
“Collectors for whom money is no object will no doubt enjoy comparing and contrasting them over the next several decades.” – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate
SUPERBLEND 802.B
While its older sibling is matured in American oak, Superblend 802.B was raised differently in French oak – yes, this translates into a wine that is more refined and elegant! The oak here is more integrated and subtler, ending off in a silky, lingering finish.
Carefully selected from the coveted 2018 South Australian vintage, 802.B’S varietal composition is close to evenly split, with 55% cabernet sauvignon and 45% shiraz contributing to the familiarly intense fruit flavours with overtones of mocha and dark chocolate.
