Opus One 2018 in Halves

Hailing from the Latin musical term oper, Opus One translates to the first major work of art, a composer’s first masterpiece. And it was none other than Robert Mondavi, Napa Valley’s very best winemaker who created this masterpiece, together with a wine legend from the old world – Baron Phillipe de Rothschild.
Both men shared a passion for wine and desired to create an exceptional wine that represented Napa Valley when winemaking in the region was still nascent. An ultra-premium Bordeaux blend was then composed and Opus One became so successful, that it has been acclaimed as a “Californian First Growth”.
Accompanied by idyllic growing conditions that saw consistent weather and milder temperatures alongside a flawless flowering season, the 2018 vintage was near perfect. The resulting wine is beautifully perfumed with floral notes and sweet, ripe berries, while fresh herbs such as bay leaf and lemon grass highlight the dark fruit.
Did we also mention the exquisitely refined tannins that lasts for minutes? Such a grand finale!
Instead of the full concerto, you can now experience the masterpiece in smaller movements – Opus One 2018 is now available in halves!
