Merlot first arrived in Montalcino back in the 1970s, thanks to the Frescobaldi Family. When Vittorio Frescobaldi met his friend Robert Mondavi, a shared dream between two of the world’s most illustrious winemakers was set into motion: a bold and ambitious wine that challenged boundaries, the first ever Super Tuscan in Montalcino to be blended from Merlot and Sangiovese.

Each of Tenuta Luce’s wines represents a different expression of the territory. Just like the sun, Luce is a tribute to this divine element that provides all living things with energy. As a result of the sunny summers of Montalcino, Luce showcases the perfect harmony between the structure and elegance of Sangiovese and the roundness and softness of Merlot.

The second wine Lucente is the liveliest and mellowest expression of Luce, while Luce Brunello di Montalcino is a tribute to Montalcino’s traditions with its rich, multi-layered flavours and beautiful tannins from pure Sangiovese.
