Dry White Wine of Sauternes

Not Just For Dessert
Sauternes/Barsac sweet wines are here to stay, but their dry whites are very worthwhile to pursue too. A perfect balance by matchmaking Sauvignon Blanc with Semillon where Sauvignon Blanc gives a refreshing acidity and aromatic fruitiness while Semillon when blended together, embraces Sauvignon lovingly and firmly with its structure, mouthfeel and warm honeyed notes. And they became a perfect match, made in heaven.
Due to the AOC laws, dry white Bordeaux wines produced from grapes planted in this appellation are classified and labelled “Bordeaux Blanc”. The most notable dry white is probably Y (pronounced “ee-grek” in French) from the King of Sauternes, Chateau d’Yquem.
In short, these dry whites are rich like Sauternes/Barsac wines but without the sweetness. They are not only affordable in value, but also retain high quality. Discover these gems today.
