A Dazzling Gem
“One of Pauillac’s most consistently brilliant wines.”
– Robert M. Parker, Jr.
For many wine lovers, Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, or Chateau Pichon Lalande for short, is one of the best examples from Bordeaux’s Pauillac. This highly esteemed estate produces some of the most elegant and profound wines in the area, earning itself a reputation for being a “Super Second”!
Women Age Like Fine Wine Too!
Now, who said that the phrase “age like fine wine” is only applicable for men?
Although it is a feminine Pauillac, it is one that ages superbly well, thanks to the vine’s average age of 35 years old. Take the 1997 Pichon-Lalande, for example! “It has held up extremely well for a wine now over two decades old,” says Antonio Galloni. The most precious pearls are contained in the limited Magnum cases, containing extremely rare back vintages in pristine condition!
