Chateau Duhart-Milon, a gem of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. The 2021 vintage marks another chapter of excellence, blending Rothschild tradition with modern precision.
A Rich Heritage, Elevated
Chateau Duhart-Milon boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Over the years, the estate faced a turbulent past marked by multiple changes in ownership, leading to a decline in quality by the mid-20th century. A pivotal moment arrived in 1962 when Domaines Barons de Rothschild, proprietors of the neighbouring First Growth, Chateau Lafite Rothschild, purchased this Fourth Growth estate. The Rothschilds’ influence proved transformative. Their investments in renovations and meticulous winemaking practices, mirroring those employed at Lafite, revitalized Duhart-Milon’s reputation.
The grand vin—features a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot—is a true reflection of Pauillac’s power and elegance. Moulin de Duhart, their second wine, offers the same varietals, crafted for earlier accessibility while maintaining the estate’s elegance and precision. Both wines reflect the exceptional terroir and meticulous care characteristic of Rothschild estates.
